I’ve been fortunate to learn from some of the most brilliant minds in the field—Janina Fisher, Pat Ogden, Kathy Kain, Stephen Terrell, Bill Bowen, and others. But my most profound teachers have often been my clients. Their deep intelligence inspires and guides my work every day.
Therapy
I integrate mindfulness-based approaches to stress, trauma, and addiction recovery with practical coping strategies and psychoeducation. My work is grounded in Janina Fisher’s Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST) “parts” model.
When we experience trauma—especially early in life—we develop protective parts of ourselves designed to keep us safe in inherently unsafe environments. These survival parts don’t have a time stamp; they respond to everyday situations as if we are still in danger. This often creates painful ruptures in our relationships, our jobs and with our own sense of sanity.
In therapy, we don’t try to eliminate these parts—we honor them. Together, we recognize how these parts have protected us and gently help them update their “files.” We show them that we now have more tools, more agency, and more support. Healing happens when we build an internal culture of safety, trust, and cooperation.
My approach blends the TIST model with my extensive training in mindfulness-based somatic therapy from the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute and Psycho-Physical Therapy. I offer 60-minute sessions for individuals and couples.
